We headed off to Brussels on the 12th of January on the Eurostar for a quick visit. It was a mere two hour journey that dropped us relatively close to our hotel. The air literally smelled like waffles and chocolate in the areas around the Grand Place.
We spent the first day in a very informative tour that took us around the entire city and pointed out the key things to get back and see. Some items of interest were, the Manneken-Pis, the Atomium, and the Grand Place. Part of the city hall on the Grand Place dates back to the 12th century!

It was truly a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend seeing it at some point. I would not think that it is a week's vacation but it could have definitely used more than the two days that we allotted.
