Hi all! So, I was lucky enough to spend last week in Zurich.
We were finally taught how to pronounce Zurich in
German thanks to our Chicago friends Scott and Brooke
who are now living in Zurich. Scott works for UBS as well
and is doing a two to three year assignment, like Derek.
This in a picture of the Bahnhofstrasse, the heart of the city.

So, while the boys worked very hard all week Brooke and
I hung out and enjoyed the beautiful summer weather in
Zurich. This is the outdoor cafe at Sprungli, the famous
confectioner, founded in 1836.
And here is my new favorite treat. Like I needed any
any other reason to love Zurich! These little bundles of
yumminess are called Luxemburgerlis. I don't know what they
are because it is all in German, but I think they are amazing!
They don't even ship them outside of Switzerland - I already tried!

It was so clear everyday that we were able to see the awe inspiring
Swiss Alps. Pictures just don't do them justice. We were
out on Lake Zurich taking a cruise.
After about two hours we reached a little town named
Rapperswil or the "town of roses". It is an ancient Swiss town
that has kept much of its medieval appearance.
On my last day I was walking down the Bahnhofstrasse
again and came across this beautiful clock. All the bells started
ringing and these little figurines came out. Everyone on
the street stopped to watch.

This is the view from the end of the Bahnhofstrasse
and the beginning of Lake Zurich.

And to keep with all of the other clocks in Zurich here
is one on the lake in flowers. How beautiful! And did you
know - all the public clocks in Zurich are synchronized.
I love this place! If you know my obsession with
time and being on time you know I would fit in here perfectly!
I would not mind living here either - hint hint. :)
Bye for now! Love,
Leah and Derek
