2012 Olympic Flag Handover and Notting Hill Carnivale

Believe it or not, the 2008 Summer Olympic games

have come and gone! London is now gearing up for the

games in 2012. We went to the Mall, or Maww as the

Brits like to say, to watch the official Olympic Flag

handover from the Beijing Mayor Guo Jinlong to the

London Mayor Boris Johnson on the big screen.

The next day we were off to the Notting Hill Carnivale.
This Carnivale is the second largest in the world, next

to Rio of course. As the Brits like to say, it was

absolutely massive, with loads of people all around

going absolutely mad! Any reason to drink seems

to excite the Brits! Check out the scenes below to

see what I mean...

There were quite a few open lorries with huge sound

systems blaring reggae music.

Tons of very colorful feathers!

We have come across these strange structures in the streets of London.

Can you guess what it is?

Yep, in broad daylight for all to enjoy, these are open
air urinals (pronounced ur-eye-nals by the brits). It is too
crazy for words so we had to post the picture.
