Hi again! On January 2nd we went with Anne and
Stacy to Amsterdam. Since we enjoyed ourselves
so much the first time we decided to show the girls a good

time. Stacy and I are standing over one of the canals.

This is Amsterdam's city crest.


Here is a pretty view of downtown.

We stopped at Centraal Station and had our first
beer and Dutch cheese!

This was our favorite pancake house so, of course
we brought the girls!

Yummy! The syrup is the best!

Anne decided to go for a savory pancake.


Next, it was on to the canal boat to go to the
van Gogh Museum.

And much to our surprise the Rijksmuseum was
open! Last year it was being refurbished. Petrus
Cuypers "the grandfather of Dutch architecture"
designed the building.

Then we stopped at the Diamond Museum!


The next day we went to the Heineken Brewery.

Derek and I stopped to get into our
traditional Dutch outfits!

We are inside the former working brewery
that was built in 1867.


Here we are helping the brew master!

Yay! Fresh Heineken. It tastes so much better
in Amsterdam!

Derek and I put the girls on their train
to Nuremberg and I HAD to go to
one last museum. The Museum of Bags
and Purses. FUN!!

They had a special exhibit of glass
purses. I decided that those weren't
very practical - yet very pretty!

We had a great time on our second trip to Amsterdam.
I really want to go back in the summer!
